Rooted in God’s love, St. Charles Borromeo parish is a vibrant and caring faith community. We strive daily to proclaim God’s abiding love in our words and our actions. Our willingness to serve, to share our gifts, and to offer hospitality are hallmarks of our faith community. I know from parishioners’ testimonies, this is what attracts others to our parish.

I am grateful to our parishioners to be a member of Saint Charles Borromeo parish. I am grateful for their witness and commitment to our Catholic faith. I pray that as we move forward, we will take all the opportunities given to us to draw closer to God and one another.

When I returned to St. Charles Borromeo parish in June 2008 as Pastor, I used “I am back” as my opening words. Some may remember that I was first here as a Parochial Vicar from 1992-1996. I continue to find St. Charles Borromeo parish to be a vibrant community of prayer, of tender support, and genuine care.

I come from the west side of the City, raised in Chili by my mom and dad along with one brother and two sisters. I was schooled at Saint Pius the Tenth School, King’s Preparatory High School, Saint John Fisher College, and Saint Bernard Seminary.

My priestly assignments have given me a wonderful flavor of being a diocesan priest as well as God’s abiding and personal care for us. After ordination on March 18, 1977 I served at Saint Mary Our Mother Church in Horseheads, N.Y.; Saint Louis Church in Pittsford, N.Y.; graduate studies in Sociology/Social Work at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.; Diocesan Director of Catholic Charities; first time at SCB; and pastor of Saint Helen Church in Gates, N.Y. before returning home to SCB.

I strive daily (some days better than others) to live a balanced life of prayer, ministry, time with family and friends, reading, exercise, and relaxation. I feel comfortable outdoors cutting grass, gardening, swimming, fast walking, and once again biking (it’s true that once you learn how to ride, you don’t forget).
