Fall Blood Drive - October 30, 2016
- October 24, 2016
On SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30, the Social Ministry Committee will be hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive from 8:30 am—12:30 pm in the gym. Consider becoming a Blood Donor Hero and help save someone’s life (actually 3 people’s) with one
NOTE: In the first 3 days of Hurricane Matthew, the Red Cross lost 1,800 units of blood. It is vital that you consider donating blood at this time to help recover this huge loss. Thank you!
WHO CAN GIVE? Anyone 17 years of age or older, in good health, weighing at least 110 lbs.
WHAT DO I DO AHEAD TO PREPARE? Sign-up at 1-800-733-2767 or on the sign-up sheet in the back of Church. Hydrate well the day before (walk-ins are always welcome!)
WILL IT TAKE LONG? The actual donation process usually takes less than 15 minutes. There are pre-donation reading materials and health history questionnaire beforehand and an energy snack afterwards.
HOW WILL I FEEL AFTER I GIVE? Like the HERO that you have become! You can go on with the rest of your day as normal.
HOW WILL MY BLOOD BE USED? Accident victims, premature babies, cancer patients and people undergoing surgery all may need blood.
