A Message from Fr. John Firpo....

Dear Parishioners,

As some of you may already know, St. Charles Borromeo is looking to lease the north side of the school to Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) for a two year period of time starting July 1, 2018. This rental will bring approximately $60,000 in to the parish which will help cover costs of future capital/ministry improvements within the parish. I’m very grateful to Daniel Leitten, Regional Finance Director for Eastern Greece/Charlotte Churches, who has been instrumental in coordinating this process and the potential implementation of the agreement.

During this process we have made sure that the current events that take place in the parish center will not be effected (i.e. AA “Sober” Group, Knights of Columbus meetings, parish social events, etc.). Additionally, the Christian Formation summer intensive program will not be effected either. All other unscheduled events that are requested will be addressed as they are received and accommodations will be made if possible.

Lastly, we are continuing to assess and plan the moving of current ministries (i.e., Prayer Shawl and Quilting ministries, Scripture Study, Al-Anon, Pre-School classes, etc.) to the south side of the school. This includes updating of rooms, creating/establishing a new entrance during the weekday when RACS is in session, cleaning schedules, etc. As for ministries that will continue to utilize the parish center, we are still planning and assessing the appropriate way to deal with cleaning and usage of this area to allow the continued usage with as little problems as possible.
