From the Office of Communications, Diocese of Rochester:

Please find below a copy of a letter from Dr. Anthony Cook III, who has announced he will conclude his service as Superintendent of Catholic Schools on Sept. 6, 2019. Mr. James Tauzel, who has served since 2016 as Coordinator of Curriculum and Instruction in the Department of Catholic Schools, will serve as Interim Superintendent effective Sept. 6. Dr. Cook’s letter beautifully expresses his positive experience in that role and his gratitude.

In a letter to Dr. Cook, Bishop Matano wrote, “allow me to express my sincere gratitude for the service you have rendered as our Superintendent of Catholic Schools. I have appreciated your cooperative and collaborative spirit, but above all your commitment to preserving the Catholic identity of our schools. I wish you the Lord’s blessings in your future endeavors, asking that the Holy Spirit continue to guide you as you serve the Lord where He directs you.”

Bishop Matano also expressed his appreciation to Mr. Tauzel for his leadership in this time of transition.
