Confirmation is a celebration of the fullness of initiation into the Church. Although originally part of the Sacrament of Baptism in the early centuries, the Sacrament of Confirmation has become its own Sacrament where we receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation focus their preparation on study and prayer. Candidates should take an active role in their preparation in the Christian way of life, and should take responsibility for their own continued spiritual development. Candidates must possess a deep sense of commitment and a sincere desire to image themselves in Christ.
