Baptism

Baptism is the first Sacrament a child recieves.

Parents of the child are asked to attend a class to review the ritual and understand their responsibilities, particiapte in discussions with other families about baptism and to discuss ways to be an active Catholic. These classes are usually held 5 or 6 times a year. It is encouraged that parents attend at least 5 or 6 weeks prior to the scheduled baptism.

*Please note: at this time, regularly scheduled classes are not being held. However, this does not mean that you cannot have your child baptized. Please contact Mary Toot at 663-3230 x106 or mary.toot@dor.org to make arrangements.

At this time, baptisms are being held after our 9:30 am Sunday mass.

If you are not a registered parishoner at St. Charles you are still welcome to have your child baptized here, however it is necessary to have permisson from the parish you are registered in.

When choosing Godparents, please be sure that BOTH Godparents are at least 16 years of age, have been baptized and at least ONE Godparent has received the Sacrament of Confirmation.

For more information, families should contact Mary Toot at 663-3230 x106 or mary.toot@dor.org.
